EDMONTON – Police are accusing of youths of trying to a kill a man in northeast Edmonton in mid-October.
Four youths are facing various charges, including two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, criminal hit and run, and attempted theft of a motor vehicle in connection to an incident early in the morning on Oct. 18.
Police say a man was making door-to-door deliveries in the area of Henry Avenue, near Hermitage Road at around 6 a.m. when four youths approached his vehicle in a Jeep Wrangler.

One of the young men reportedly tried to steal the man’s car.
The man returned to his car and there was reportedly a fight between him and the youth.
The driver of the Jeep tried to drive away from the scene, striking the man, youth and car in the process, according to police.
The Jeep then reportedly came back and hit the man again, before a second youth attacked the man with a weapon.

All four youths fled the scene in the Jeep.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The four youths can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
